Commdex Awarded Contract to Enhance Communications inside Clayton County, GA Jail
Norcross, GA, February 18th, 2015 – Commdex has been awarded a major subcontract by Motorola Solutions to deploy a complete in-building coverage solution for the Clayton County, Georgia jail. The solution, which will consist of a turnkey bi-directional amplifier (BDA), will boost network capacity and improve service reliability for multiple floors within the jail, delivering enhanced communications to one of the County’s most critical infrastructures.
BDAs use an external, directional antenna to collect the best cellular signal, which is then transmitted to an amplifier unit which amplifies the signal, and retransmits it locally, providing significantly improved signal strength. Commdex’s complete solution will allow for better communications within the jail, where wireless coverage was previously tested and determined to be poor. The solution includes BDA design, materials, installation, and optimization, as well as extensive testing prior to final customer approval to ensure that all coverage requirements are exceeded.
