Commdex Awarded Contract to Improve Towers in Kodiak Alaska by US Coast Guard

Atlanta, GA, June 21st, 2019 – The US Coast Guard (USCG) has awarded Commdex a task order to provide tower improvements at the Buskin Lake tower field in Kodiak, Alaska.  This task order represents the largest single award under the current TMACC contract.  This task includes a base grouping of work and a number of options that when fully exercised will include tower maintenance, repair, demolition and new tower construction for 9 towers at the site.  Commdex will also install a new river crossing for a power feed to the site and upgrades to NAVTEX beacons located at the site.

Commdex is responsible for the design and construction of all improvements at the site and is also responsible for the logistics to transport tower steel and other materials to Kodiak Island.  This work will be conducted over the next 2 years due to the remote location and limited build window available due to weather.

Prince Niyyar, Commdex’s President said, “We are honored at the trust the Coast Guard has placed in us for this task order and appreciate the opportunity to continue to serve such an important user.  These towers provide key communications and navigation capabilities for the Coast Guard and help ensure the safety of all those in the Kodiak region.”
