Commdex Awarded Major Critical Communications Contract with the Federal Protective Services
Atlanta, GA, October 6th, 2014 – Commdex, a leading systems integration and engineering firm, has been awarded a multi-year, multi-million dollar prime contract to incorporate telephony, radio, and recording systems into an integrated communications solution at four major MegaCenters for the Federal Protective Services (FPS). The new telephone and voice recorder systems must operate with maximum efficiency to support Federal facilities, around the clock, nationwide. To meet this mission of 24/7 support for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Commdex has assembled an industry-leading team of subject matter experts in the fields of emergency communications, telephony, voice recording and dispatch solutions, to design, engineer, furnish, install, and maintain the new telephone and voice recorder systems required to replace the legacy systems at the four FPS MegaCenters. The integrated communications solution will enable operators at the four command centers to effectively and efficiently communicate during both day-to-day operations, as well as emergency situations.
Commdex will lead the crucial effort to successfully deliver the command center implementations, while ensuring high quality and customer satisfaction to the FPS. This critical work includes a detailed site survey at each of the MegaCenters to collect user requirements, capturing an inventory of existing communications, radio and dispatch systems, to develop an engineering design and implementation plan for the new telephone and voice recording systems. Commdex will then perform equipment installation and testing, complete final site quality audits, train MegaCenter personnel, and deliver a comprehensive maintenance package to the FPS that thoroughly covers all aspects of the telephone and logging system. The final integrated, future proof solution will bring telephony, radio and logging together in a redundant, integrated system that meets the current needs of the FPS and can be expanded into the future.
“This contract represents a valuable opportunity for us to partner with a new customer, the FPS, to replace their legacy systems with a highly scalable, integrated solution that addresses all the critical needs of each MegaCenter,” Commdex President, Prince Niyyar, said. “We are excited for the opportunity to implement and network new telephone and voice recording systems with the capacity to support the FPS’s critical mission to successfully monitor, respond, and dispatch resources in both emergency and non-emergency situations, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.”
