Commdex to Provide In-Building Wireless Coverage for DTE Nuclear Generation Station

Atlanta, GA, May 3rd, 2019 – Commdex has been selected to provide a fully turnkey In-Building Wireless Coverage System to cover deficient areas of DTE Energy’s Fermi II Nuclear Generation Station in Newport, MI. The Fermi II Power Plant supplies 20 percent of the power generated by DTE Energy. It is DTE’s only source of carbon-free baseload (always on) power in Michigan.

Commdex is responsible for the full design of the proposed Distributed Antenna System (DAS) . In addition to the design, Commdex will also provide an implementation project schedule and a Sample Coverage Validation Test Plan for review and approval. Upon approval of the implementation plan, equipment will be purchased in accordance to the schedule. Commdex will oversee procurement and delivery of all equipment and materials to the installation site, optimization and level setting of all active equipment, coverage testing to validate system performance, and in conjunction with Motorola Solutions, will provide a Project Manager for the overall project effort. The full system is scheduled to be completed by Spring 2021.
