Commdex Selected For Pierce County, Washington In-building Wireless Upgrades
July 6, 2022 – Smyrna, GA – Commdex has been tasked to lead the design and implementation of an in-building wireless coverage system to cover deficient areas of the correctional and County administrative campus for Pierce County, Washington.
Commdex will provide a 700-800 MHz Bi- Directional Amplifier (BDA) combined unit attached to a Distributed Antenna System (DAS) to provide coverage within three main structures; the 12-story main County-City Building containing courtrooms and administration facilities, the original jail consisting of a 7-story structure housing inmates, and the new 7-story jail for inmate housing and rehabilitation and recreation areas. The system is designed to allow for easy expansion if required in the future.
The new system will ensure 97% coverage in critical areas throughout the facilities, vital for providing reliable communications for first responders and Pierce County Employees. Commdex performed on-site surveys and used 3-D modelling and prediction tools to precisely tailor coverage for the areas where it was needed eliminating any “dead spots”. The project is expected to be completed by Spring 2023.
Prince Niyyar, Commdex’s President, said, “We are thrilled to continue supporting the great people of Pierce County and to provide a critical upgrade for the county’s facilities.”
