April 29, 2022 – Smyrna, GA –  Commdex has been tasked to lead the design and implementation of an in-building wireless coverage system to cover deficient areas of the Virginia General Assembly Building in Richmond, Virginia.

Commdex will provide a 700-800 MHz Bi- Directional Amplifier (BDA) combined unit attached to a Distributed Antenna System (DAS) to provide coverage in specified areas of the General Assembly Building and parking garage tunnel.

The new system will ensure 99% coverage in critical areas throughout the building and tunnel, vital for providing reliable communications for first responders.  Commdex performed on-site surveys and used 3D modelling and prediction tools to precisely tailor coverage for the areas where it was needed eliminating any “dead spots.”

Prince Niyyar, Commdex’s President, said, “We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Johnson Controls and to provide much needed indoor coverage for the new General Assembly building at such a historic location.”

Commdex is proud to be teamed with industry leading partner Johnson Controls in support of this critical infrastructure improvement.
