Commdex To Upgrade Communications at Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area

March 28th, 2023 – Smyrna, GA –  The National Park Service (NPS) has selected Commdex to lead the upgrade of the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area (BISO) radio system under the DOI FieldCom Contract.

Commdex will provide a turnkey solution to replace BISO’s current radio communication system. The solution will consist of 13 base station installations, ten repeater installations, and 47 mobile vehicle radios installations designed to expand connectivity within the park and tackle the challenges presented by its size, extremely rough mountainous terrain, and topography.

The new radio system will bring connectivity to areas that currently have little to no coverage helping to improve day-to-day operations, particularly during severe weather, search and rescue, and wildfire operations.

Prince Niyyar, Commdex’s President, said, “We are excited to support the great people at Big South Fork to enhance their critical communications system infrastructure. We are committed to delivering our “Gold Standard” for services and focused on exceeding BISO’s expectations throughout this engagement, from start to finish and beyond.”

Commdex is proud to be teamed with partner Motorola Solutions, in support of this critical infrastructure improvement for the National Park Service.
